Biography

J. P. Somers-Cocks was the senior music teacher at Epsom College in the 1950s. He played the organ in chapel, rehearsed the choir and conducted the school orchestra and choir at occasional concerts. After the death of his first wife, he married a widowed music teacher who worked in a nearby school. He was born in 1907 and died in 1995, having late in life, after the death of a cousin, inherited the title of Lord Somers and a seat in the House of Lords.
